Free Time
I post on my page, nicks_niche_reviews with semi-regularity. Wanting to take a different approach to what I was seeing on Instagram, I made a review page where I give quick, less-than-serious reviews of everyday things giving a thumbs up, thumbs down, or ok emoji to show my feelings on the matter. It allows me to practice my creativity through photography and writing in short bursts.
Animated Video Series
Near the end and shortly after graduating college I made a goal for myself to make an animated video series. I found animation interesting, and have always liked funny media. Taking personal experience and exaggerating the funny qualities, I came up with the idea “Guides for the Socially Awkward.”
Homemade Nightstand
While in college I started collecting bottle caps, pocketing every new cap I found and adding it to my collection. I originally didn’t have a plan for them, but one day I found myself looking at the cardboard box I was using as a nightstand and it hit me. I know, a bottle cap table isn’t the most original idea, but I decided to hold myself to a few rules to make it a bit more interesting. I had to personally drink whatever the cap came from, no cap could appear on the table twice, and they would be put on the table in order of when I got them. 252 unique caps and several years later, I have myself a hand-built, completely collapsible, and mostly level nightstand!
